Disclaimer

Pitch-Dark Paranormal is solely a 'not-for-profit' organisation with no intention to supply the sale of goods. We do not obtain or request personal Data from Users for the use of any sales, marketing or profiteering of any kind.

We do not arrange 'public-attendance' investigations and therefore do not ask for monies from anyone and therefore do not obtain any Data for that purpose.

All information collectively that you have submitted to Pitch-Dark Paranormal via the Website 'Contact Us' form or via email, phone (call and/or text) or Facebook/Messenger. This also includes other 'Sensitive Data' as and when required that is submitted by the User during a preliminary interview investigation.

'Pitch-Dark Paranormal', 'we', 'us', 'our'

Pitch-Dark Paranormal are a group of enthusiastic and interested members who are into the investigation into the anomalous phenomena. We are based in Conwy, North Wales (with members across North Wales counties). For the context of this Privacy Policy we are classed as the 'Data Controller'.

Any third party that accesses the Website and is not: i. employed by Pitch-Dark Paranormal and is not acting in the course of their employment; or ii. engaged as a consultant or otherwise providing services to Pitch-Dark Paranormal and accessing the Website in connection with the provision of such services.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the actions of Pitch-Dark Paranormal and Users with respect to this Website. It does not extend to any other websites that can be accessed via link from this Website including, but not limited to, any links we may provide to social media websites.

In order for us to undertake a preliminary interview investigation we may collect and process the following personal Data:

    • Email
    • Location (town and county)
    • Landline/Mobile phone number (if submitted by you)

Other Data we collect (only upon arrangement of undertaking a preliminary investigation - and will only be given to the Founder or Lead Investigator of Pitch-Dark Paranormal)

If you access our Website in the foresight to contact us regarding any paranormal activity, then you will be required to submit your Data as follows:

    • Complete the 'Contact Us' form on our Website;
    • Correspond with us by phone (call or text), e-mail or by Facebook messenger;
    • Offer up any Sensitive Data upon a preliminary interview investigation (see 'Other Data')

If you visit our Website (created with Google New Sites), we may automatically collect information: we will collect data for analytical purposes and to make improvements including website content and navigation, including your IP address, the date, times and frequency of navigation with which you access the Website and the way you use and interact with its content.

The cookies information Data obtained automatically by Google Sites is within the boundaries of UK/EU Law and therefore to the requirements of the DPA and abides with the GDPR.

Other Data

Sensitive personal data

In certain limited cases, we may collect certain sensitive personal Data from you (that is, information about your religious beliefs, activities, physical or mental health, medications taken, drugs and/or alcohol). However, we will only do so on the basis of your explicit consent via you offering the information for our research during a preliminary interview investigation visit.

Personal Data of other people

Other sensitive Data may be information about other people other than yourself, such as relatives, next of kin or friends, etc. (if linked or witness to the 'paranormal activity'). This will only be requested upon a preliminary interview investigation and obtained by yourself on the implicit agreement of those other people on the understanding that it will be used for our research only.

How do we use your personal data?

When we ask you to supply us with personal Data we will make it clear whether the personal Data we are asking for must be supplied so that we can provide the service to you, or whether the supply of any personal Data we ask for is optional. We will retain any Data you submit for a minimum of 1 month (subject to potential arrangement of a full investigation and for the future duration thereof).

Unless we are obliged or permitted to do so under Law, and subject to any third party disclosures specifically set out in this Policy, your Data will not be disclosed to any third parties.

All personal Data supplied by you is stored securely in accordance with the principles of the DPA (please see 'Where do we store your personal Data and how is it protected?' for further details).

Any or all of the above Data may be required by us from time to time in order to ensure we are providing you with the best service and experience whilst using our Website, specifically to improve our Website and services.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that only our Founder and Lead Investigator protect your personal Data and are fully aware of their information security obligations.

We limit access to your personal Data to those who have a genuine need to know it, namely any of our Core Investigators who will be required to attend on an investigation subject to arrangement... and so will only need your location as required.

Links to other websites

This Website may from time to time provide links to other non-affiliated websites and social media. As such, we have no control over those websites and social media and therefore are not responsible for the content therein.

This Privacy Policy does not therefore extend to your use of those websites. You are advised to ensure you read the privacy policies of those websites accordingly prior to using them.

How long will PDP keep your personal data?

Where there is an on-going basis between us, we will retain your personal data for the duration of any investigation, upon conclusion of which we will remove all your Data.

Security

Where do we store your personal Data and how is it protected?

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal Data from loss or fraudulent attack. We also have suitable physical and managerial procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach and therefore able to safeguard and secure your Data collected via this Website.

We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal Data transmitted to our Website; any transmission is at your own risk.

Once we have received your personal Data, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
